Pre-summer Checks
It’s better to make adjustments to controls, timers and systems in response to seasonal changes to ensure a good working environment for your employees and clients, rather than rely on responding to complaints.
As the clocks go forward an hour for the summer, think about introducing a summer checklist for your controls, timers and systems. Optimise energy savings and make sure everything is ready for the seasonal changes
Timers that are out by just one hour could be wasting 12% of energy used in a standard office day. Every 1°C conserved with heating or cooling can save up to 8% off your annual energy bill
If you have separate air conditioning and heating systems, make sure that they are not working against each other.
Frost protection – make sure that the thermostat is set appropriately as a protection and not a space heating temperature.
Staff Awareness Level 1: provide training and explain to staff, add to maintenance schedule.
